Heritage

About the design

Originally built for Jim McCormick of McCormick Spices, Celeritous was later owned for many years by Ted R., who sailed out of Mystic, Connecticut and raced to Bermuda and Halifax, Nova Scotia. Our family purchased her in 2001 and sailed throughout New England as our kids grew up. Celeritous has had recent Awlgrip paint and many upgrades over the years. She is very seaworthy and can sleep eight (with four to five being more comfortable for cruising gear and water toys). Built like a tank but carrying a tall-aspect 54-foot rig and multiple sail options, she handles well across conditions and really moves with the right sail plan. We are retiring from sailing and offering her for the next chapter.
